Mr. Shai Weiss, Founding Partner of the Virgin Green Fund (VGF), has served as a director of Gevo since 2007 and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2010. He is also the chairman of Gevo’s Compensation Committee and its Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Shai serves on the boards of several VGF portfolio companies including an energy efficient lighting solutions company based in Tennessee and GreenRoad, and a driver safety and fuel efficiency company based in California.
Prior to founding VGF, Shai held several positions at ntl:Telewest (now known as Virgin Media), Europe’s largest cable operator. While at ntl Shai was Managing Director of Consumer Products, responsible for the development and delivery of internet, telephone and TV for the consumer market and also the Integration Director for the merger between ntl and Telewest. Shai has also held the position of Director of Operations for the ntl Group where he was responsible for major operations and business development projects.
Prior to joining ntl, Shai established the European office of Jerusalem Venture Partners and was a member of Morgan Stanley’s hi-tech M&A and corporate finance teams.
Shai holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.B.A. in business and finance from City University of New York, Baruch College.
