PROCESS OPERATOR

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the operation of the plant, working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the production of alcohol and distiller’s grain by conducting the operation of systems: cook, fermentation, yeast propagation, distillation, evaporation and drying.
  2. Monitor the production process from the control room, take samples and monitor process equipment and climb stairs and ladders to monitor equipment that is elevated.
  3. Conduct start up and shut down of all processing plant systems efficiently and safely.
  4. Coordinate and communicate with operators and Shift Lead from the preceding shift and following shift as to work assignments, relaying all messages and instructions.
  5. Maintain and keep accurate records to produce alcohol and distiller’s grain.
  6. Complete the required cleaning of all plant systems.
  7. Communicate any and all problems with equipment to the Shift Lead and assist with the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
  8. Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) and attend all safety training.
  9. Conduct regular house-cleaning duties, keeping the entire production area as neat and clean as possible.
  10. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  11. Identify and communicate workplace hazards to the Shift Lead and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by Shift Lead or Operations Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; technical college degree or vocational training desired. Willingness to learn process and operating procedures; previous ethanol experience preferred. Ability to walk, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and continuously stand on cement floors. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office type applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for assisting in implementing the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program of the plant to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of GC/LC operation involving analyzing samples including knowledge of analyte matrix, interferences, detection limits, analyte trending and operational goals.
  2. Maintenance of GC/LC, trouble shooting and calibration of methods involving the changing of columns, cartridges, septa, liners, and pump seals.
  3. Conduct quality control tests on process streams and finished products.
  4. Coordinate and communicate with operators test results to ensure optimum quality and efficiency.
  5. Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests and transfer data from analysis accurately.
  6. Perform HPLC, GC, brix, refractometer, titrations, specific gravity, percent solids, COD, inorganic colorimetric tests and other tests as needed.
  7. Inventory laboratory supplies and provide orders to purchasing agent.
  8. Follow good laboratory practices and attend all safety training.
  9. Conduct regular house-cleaning duties, keeping the laboratory area as neat and clean as possible.
  10. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  11. Identify and communicate workplace hazards to the Lab Manager and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in biology, chemistry or related scientific field is desired. Willingness to learn laboratory and process procedures; previous ethanol experience preferred. Ability to walk, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office type applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Repair or replace plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance functions and inspections of assigned equipment within the plant.
  3. Assist with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
  4. Coordinate and communicate with production personnel all maintenance and repair work.
  5. Maintain and keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  6. Complete work orders as assigned.
  7. Operate equipment including telehandler, skid steer, pay loader scissor lift and forklift.
  8. Follow maintenance best practices and attend all safety training.
  9. Conduct regular house-cleaning duties, keeping the maintenance area as neat and clean as possible.
  10. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  11. Identify and communicate workplace hazards to the Maintenance Manager or Shift Lead and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; technical college degree or vocational training desired. Willingness to learn process and understand how equipment is utilized; previous maintenance or industrial equipment repair experience preferred. Ability to walk, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights. Welding experience on carbon/stainless steel preferred. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office type applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
